Resonant Threads

Since its emergence in the late 20th century through figures such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass, minimalist music has evolved into a more flexible postminimalist language. Repetition and gradual change remain central, now traversed by electronics, improvisation and a heightened attention to sound. Like ivy spreading over a surface, these processes take root, branch out and transform over time. The three works in this programme —by Xavier Bonfill, Pete Harden and Ben Nobuto— reflect that organic, expansive character.
